YAKUBU

The Independent National Electoral Commission next Tuesday will meet governors, security agents and some presidential candidates ahead of the 2023 general elections.

An interactive session, slated for Nicon Luxury, Abuja, will have the INEC Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye; Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; his counterpart in Bauchi, Bala Mohammed; Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom; and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, in attendance.

Others include the presidential candidates of Action Alliance, Hamza Al-Mustapha; Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, Yabagi Sani; Nigerian Union of Journalists, and other stakeholders in the electoral process.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the organiser of the programme, Edwin Olofu.

Olofu, who is also the Managing Director of Platinum Post, stated that participants at the roundtable would debate how the country could achieve a credible and violent-free election next year.

The statement also said that Al-Mustapha would deliver a keynote address on the theme, ‘Contemporary Security Challenges & its Effects on 2023 Elections.’
